Project consists of the renovation of an existing off-grid cabin. Our team worked with the clients to bring this cabin back to life and transform it into an off-grid sanctuary as a base camp for outdoor family adventures. We coordinated assessment of the structure for necessary upgrades to handle the large snow loads encountered on this site. Defined new insulation and siding systems throughout to provide a high performance thermal envelope to maximize energy efficiency. Exterior components and materials were carefully selected to provide a sturdy shell for the structure which is completely encapsulated by snow during the winter months. We worked closely with our clients to rework interior layouts to optimize use of space.
